Laredo Beach Webcam Live

Laredo (La Salvé beach) is the great “wildcard” for surfing in the north. When the beaches of Bizkaia are too big or stormy, this huge sheltered bay is often the answer. Check the conditions here in real time.

When should you check the Laredo camera?

Laredo works the opposite way to most beaches in the area. It is very sheltered by Mount Buciero (Santoña), which greatly slows down the swell coming in.

  • Swell (size): Laredo needs A LOT of swell. If Sopelana has less than 2 metres, Laredo will probably be flat. Only check it when there are big-wave warnings (3–4 metres or more offshore).
  • Wind: It handles westerly (W) and north-westerly (NW) winds very well thanks to the shelter of the mountain, although its ideal wind is still southerly.
  • The area: The camera usually shows the central area or the «El Puntal» side. The closer you get to the harbour (to the right, looking out to sea), the smaller the waves.
