San Lorenzo, Gij\u00f3n\u2019s city beach<\/h2>\n

San Lorenzo is Gij\u00f3n\u2019s big city beach, with the Escalerona promenade running along the whole length of the sand. At high tide the water reaches almost up to the wall and the beach practically disappears, so it is worth checking the camera before heading down. When a north or north-westerly swell comes in, peaks form all along the beach and it becomes one of the liveliest surf spots in Asturias.
